Vienna, July 15–16, 2025 – Kazakh delegation visited Austria to strengthen partnerships in the field of animal breeding and to study advanced practices in raising Fleckvieh (Simmental) cattle.
The delegation included Azamat Saginbayev, Executive Director of the Republican Chamber of Dairy and Dual-Purpose Cattle Breeds; Alzhan Shamshidin, Vice-Rector for Science at Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University and Doctor of Biological Sciences; and Anuarbek Bisembaev, Director of the Scientific and Production Center for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine.
The Kazakh experts met with the leadership of “Fleckvieh Austria,” an umbrella organization uniting Austria’s leading breeding associations. Discussions were held with the organization's President, Sebastian Auernig, and Executive Director, Reinhard Pfleger. During the meeting, the sides discussed methods for evaluating the Fleckvieh breed, specifics of breeding documentation, and future cooperation prospects.
As a result of the meeting, two memorandums of understanding were signed: one between “Fleckvieh Austria” and the Republican Chamber of Dairy and Dual-Purpose Cattle Breeds, and another between the Austrian organization and Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University. These agreements open new opportunities for long-term cooperation in livestock development, personnel training, and the introduction of modern European practices on Kazakhstan’ farms.
