There will be a Football Academy in Karaganda, a modern training center where children and teenagers of the region will be able to practice. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Akimat of the Karaganda region and the CEO of Freedom Holding Corp. By Timur Turlov. The new sports facility will contribute to the development of youth football and the region's infrastructure.

Akim of the region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev stressed that the implementation of the project was the result of a long and meaningful preparation.

- For six months, we have been working on issues with Freedom, a socially responsible company with good initiatives. Today we have completed an important stage: we have signed a memorandum on the construction of the Shakhtar Football Academy. We are focused on the development of children's and youth football and are ready to combine the resources of the state and the private sector. The project is large-scale, and I am sure it will be a real gift to the residents of the region," said Ermaganbet Bulekpayev.

The Academy's project was presented by Timur Turlov. He noted that the Karaganda region occupies a special place in the history of Kazakhstani football.

- Karaganda is a region with rich sports traditions. Here they are able to cultivate character, willpower and passion for victory. Shakhtar's entry into the group stage of the European Cup has become a milestone in the history of Russian football. We consider the Academy not just as an investment in sports, but as a contribution to the development of youth and the entire football infrastructure in Kazakhstan. I am sure it will become a center of attraction for young talents," Timur Turlov emphasized. - The experience of positive interaction with the region gives us the basis to believe in the success of our endeavor.

The project provides for the establishment of a center for international standards. An area of more than 9 hectares will house three full-size fields that meet all international standards, including an indoor arena and a heated training ground, a new stadium for 3,500 spectators, a boarding school, an administrative building, medical offices and other facilities. The total building area will exceed 28 thousand square meters. Attention will be paid not only to the training process, but also to a comfortable educational environment and the safety of students. The site between Maikuduk and the South-East has been selected for construction.

The Academy will become a training base for future FC Shakhtar players. The development of the club's youth and women's leagues will continue here.
