In Taraz, servicemen of military unit 5513 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan thwarted an attempt to deliver narcotic substances. The incident occurred at the checkpoint of Correctional Facility No. 59.

During a routine inspection of visitors, a drug detection dog named Zara, handled by senior instructor Corporal Nurbakhyt Yesengeldiyev, reacted to a suspicious scent. The dog clearly identified a pair of sneakers, inside which was found a small bundle containing a gray-green substance, presumably of narcotic origin.

The servicemen promptly reported the incident to the duty unit. An investigative team was called to the scene. Thanks to the professionalism of the guardsmen, the attempt to smuggle prohibited substances was successfully prevented.

The suspect was detained and handed over to law enforcement authorities for further investigation. A formal inquiry is currently underway regarding the incident.
