IMPORTANT! The law on the complete prohibition of vapes and similar products in the Republic of Kazakhstan has entered into force.

On June 20, 2024, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts on healthcare", signed by the Head of State on April 19, 2024, entered into force.

What is prohibited by law (Article 110 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Health of the People"):

🔸 Non - smoking tobacco products

🔸 Electronic consumption systems (vapes)

🔸 Flavors and vaping liquids

Heated tobacco products, hookah tobacco, mixtures and systems containing excessive levels of nicotine and tar

🔸 Products that do not have a sanitary and epidemiological conclusion

⚖️ Criminal liability has been established (Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan):

🔹 For sale and distribution:

- A fine of up to 200 MCI

— Correctional or community service for up to 200 hours

— Arrest for up to 50 days

, For import and production:

— Fine up to 2000 MCI

— Imprisonment for up to 2 years with confiscation of property

In case of repeated violations or in a group of people:

— Punishment of up to 5 years in prison

Even a single importation may result in criminal liability

The purpose of importation (for sale or personal use) does not matter

Ignorance of the law does not absolve from responsibility

Tourists and foreign citizens:

Before crossing the border, you can voluntarily donate vapes and liquids for them to avoid liability

Similar measures have already been successfully applied in other countries, including the USA and Thailand — awareness helps to avoid violations!
