On July 10, 2025, Shymkent hosted large-scale events dedicated to Veterinary Worker Day. Unlike the usual celebrations, this day was dedicated not only to congratulations, but also to practical work on the ground - the city's veterinary specialists conducted explanatory visits to farms. The main emphasis was on raising awareness among rural residents in matters of veterinary safety and prevention of animal diseases.

The initiative was implemented in accordance with the instructions of the Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Representatives of the territorial inspection of Shymkent, specialists of the department of agriculture and veterinary science, as well as employees of the State Enterprise "Veterinary Service" took part in the action.

One of the key objectives of the visits was to inform animal owners about the need to comply with sanitary requirements, timely vaccination, and registration of farm animals through the individual identification system. Specialists emphasized that systematic livestock accounting directly affects the effectiveness of disease control, as well as the quality and safety of livestock products.

During the meetings, veterinarians explained in detail how to properly organize the prevention of infectious diseases, what to do at the first signs of disease, and why isolation and treatment of livestock premises are crucial. In addition, it was noted that only with full digital traceability is it possible to build a modern veterinary surveillance system that meets international standards.

An important part of the events was the demonstration of new approaches to veterinary infrastructure. Plans were discussed to build additional diagnostic points, improve the equipment of existing facilities and expand access to mobile veterinary teams. Representatives of the city authorities confirmed their readiness to provide support in strengthening the material and technical base of the service, especially in rural areas.

The meeting participants paid special attention to the personnel issue. Experienced doctors held mentoring conversations with young specialists, told them about the specifics of the profession, and shared stories from practice. This approach allowed not only to transfer knowledge, but also to strengthen continuity within the professional community.

Compared to previous years, the format of the festival has changed significantly. For example, back in 2022, the main focus was on festive gatherings, and meetings with farmers were held sporadically. This year, the emphasis was on building a direct dialogue between veterinary services and rural residents, which is especially relevant in the context of growing epizootic risks and the need to modernize animal movement control.

Veterinary Worker's Day in Shymkent became an example of how a professional holiday can become an opportunity to improve the real state of affairs in the industry. It was a day filled with practice, knowledge and responsibility - high-quality interaction between specialists and farmers gave impetus to a more conscious attitude towards animal health.

This format of the event increases trust in the veterinary system, raises the prestige of the profession and promotes the development of sustainable agriculture. A veterinarian is not just a specialist in treating animals, but a guardian of public health and safety. That is why attention to his work is an investment in the health of the entire nation.
