Large-scale preparations for the 2025-2026 heating season have begun in Shymkent. Municipal services, utility companies and specialized organizations are carrying out planned restoration and preventive work at the city's thermal power complex facilities. These measures are aimed at ensuring an uninterrupted supply of heat in the upcoming autumn-winter period.
As a result of hydraulic tests conducted in various areas of the city, 98 technical faults were identified. To date, 68 of them have been eliminated, which is about 70% of the total. Work continues at all levels - from main heating lines to intra-quarter distribution networks. Particular attention is paid to areas where emergency shutdowns were recorded in previous years or there were complaints from the population.
The preparation of apartment buildings is also on schedule. Of the 2,154 apartment buildings serviced by public utilities, 456 have already been put in order. To ensure the stable operation of heating systems, pipes are flushed, valves are inspected, worn sections of pipelines are replaced, and connections are sealed.
Social infrastructure facilities have not been left out either. Schools, kindergartens, medical institutions, as well as cultural and sports complexes are actively preparing for the heating season. Of the 212 such facilities, 104 are currently ready for the heating season. Particular attention is being paid to institutions with round-the-clock stay of people - hospitals and nursing homes, where any disruptions in the heat supply can have serious consequences.
An important stage is the preparation of boiler houses and pumping stations. Of the 27 city boiler houses, 16 are fully prepared. Work is also being completed in school boiler houses: 20 out of 40 have already undergone the necessary inspections and repairs. Emergency and repair teams are working at the pumping stations, having already completed about half of the planned volume of work. Inspection and adjustment of pumping equipment, replacement of bearings, seals and other critical components are underway.
In parallel, work is underway to replace the thermal insulation on old sections of the pipeline. By September 1, it is planned to complete the complete replacement of the insulation material, which will minimize heat loss and increase the energy efficiency of the systems. An inspection of almost three thousand valves - key elements for regulating the heat flow - is also underway. About 80 of them will be completely replaced in the near future.
For facilities operating on solid fuel, the purchase of 1,650 tons of coal is planned. Thus, all heat supply sources will be provided with the necessary fuel reserves before the onset of cold weather.
One of the significant projects this year is the replacement of more than 33 kilometers of heating mains in 137 sections of the city. These works will be completed by October 10. The work is especially active in the Kunshigys microdistrict, where almost half a kilometer of the pipeline is being modernized. The new pipes are resistant to corrosion and designed for higher pressure, which will increase the reliability of the entire system.
In addition, within the framework of the national project, it is planned to completely modernize the main heat pipeline from TPP-3 to the main pumping station ONS-1. The total length of the updated networks will be 17 kilometers. The first stage of implementation is scheduled for 2025-2026, during which 4.5 kilometers will be modernized. This is one of the strategically important facilities, providing heat to a significant part of the residential and industrial areas of the city.
The city authorities emphasize: the main goal of all the events is to create a reliable, safe and efficient heat supply system. Timely preparation will minimize emergency situations in the winter, provide comfortable living conditions for city residents and uninterrupted operation of socially significant institutions.
Thus, Shymkent is confidently moving towards the new heating season with a clear plan, necessary resources and a systematic approach to solving problems of any complexity.
