On July 25, 2025, large-scale works on sanitary cleaning and improvement of the urban environment were organized in the Turansky district of the city of Shymkent. These events became part of the planned activities that ShymkentSpetsKompleks LLP regularly carries out in order to improve the urban ecology and improve the quality of life of the population.

During the day, specialists from the service organization carried out work to clear streets and sidewalks of garbage, mow grass and lawns, water and care for flower beds, and perform sanitary pruning of trees. The work covered both central and outlying areas of the district. Public utilities, specialized equipment, and green space workers were involved in the activities.

The main goal of such events is not just to restore order, but to create a long-term and sustainable ecological climate within the city. Clean streets, well-kept flower beds and healthy trees have a positive effect not only on the appearance of the city, but also on air quality, noise levels, humidity and the general ecological situation.

A distinctive feature of the current work is its systematic and continuous nature. If in previous years events of this kind were mainly limited to one-time actions and clean-up days, now the work is carried out on a regular basis. This indicates the city's transition from temporary solutions to sustainable policies in the field of ecology and urban improvement.

Thus, in 2024, events were held in Shymkent as part of the national project "Clean Kazakhstan". Then the main emphasis was on mass cleanups and public cleanups, which covered wide sections of the population. Despite the positive effect, their impact was short-term. In contrast, the events held in the Turansky district in 2025 are systemic and preventive in nature, covering both the aesthetic and functional aspects of maintaining urban infrastructure.

It should be noted that significant environmental projects have also been carried out in Shymkent in previous years. In 2023–2024, more than 220,000 tree seedlings were planted in the city, several new parks were landscaped, and fire protection measures in forest areas were strengthened. These actions became the basis for the formation of an urban green framework, on the basis of which new initiatives are subsequently developed.

Returning to the current situation, it is important to emphasize that the work in the Turansky district involves not only garbage collection, but also targeted care of green spaces. This means regular watering, pruning, renewal of flower beds and soil care. Such an approach ensures the longevity of vegetation and preserves biological diversity in the urban environment.

From an environmental point of view, such measures provide a number of tangible benefits. Mowed and well-groomed lawns reduce air dust, prevent the growth of weeds and promote a more even distribution of moisture. Sanitary pruning of trees helps to maintain their health, reduces the risk of old branches falling and stimulates the growth of new shoots. Caring for flower beds attracts pollinators, which in turn helps to maintain the ecological balance.

The social aspects of such events are also of particular importance. The participation of district residents in cleanups, the organization of joint cleanup days, the involvement of schoolchildren, volunteers and employees of institutions increase the level of environmental literacy and form a sense of responsibility for the surrounding space. City residents begin to perceive cleanliness and improvement not as the responsibility of public services, but as part of a common cause.

Systematic improvement activities also have a positive effect on the sanitary condition of the city. Regular street cleaning prevents clogging of storm drains, reduces the risk of spreading infections, and reduces the number of harmful insects and rodents. This is especially important in the southern climate of Shymkent, where high temperatures are observed in the summer.

Thus, the actions carried out on July 25 in the Turansky district can be considered an example of a new approach to managing the urban environment. Instead of one-time campaigns, city authorities are betting on regular and consistent work, which allows achieving more sustainable results.

Speaking about prospects, such events can become the basis for a larger-scale program of green development of the city. Given the successful experience of tree planting in previous years and the activity of public utilities, Shymkent can become one of the leaders in Kazakhstan in creating an environmentally friendly urban environment.

In conclusion, it can be said that sanitary and landscaping works in the Turansky district are not just cleaning and watering. This is a comprehensive approach to the formation of the city of the future, in which man and nature exist in harmony. Sustainable improvement, environmental education and systematic care of the city infrastructure are the three pillars on which modern Shymkent is built.
