On July 25, 2025, sanitary cleaning and landscaping work was systematically carried out in the Turan district of Shymkent. These works were organized by ShymkentSpetsKompleks LLP, which is implementing a set of measures aimed at creating a clean and comfortable environment for city residents.

As part of the cleaning work on this day, streets and sidewalks were cleaned of garbage, grass and lawns were cut, flower beds were watered, and sanitary pruning of trees was carried out. Such measures allow improving the appearance of the city and providing residents with a comfortable living environment. Special equipment, employees, and manual labor were widely involved in the work. In addition, residents themselves participated in the Saturday clean-ups and contributed to the cleanliness of their territory.

This initiative, compared to previous cleaning and landscaping activities, is being carried out systematically and with a specific plan. In 2024, for example, as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" republican campaign, cleaning was carried out in the city. But most often it took place in the form of one-time cleanups. And this year, cleaning is being carried out regularly in the Turan district, which may have a long-term impact on the ecosystem.

In previous years, a number of projects aimed at increasing greenery were implemented. In 2023–2024, more than 220 thousand tree seedlings were planted in Shymkent, several new flower beds were opened. In addition, fire-fighting mineral strips were created in forest areas, and care for natural areas was enhanced. These measures were aimed at long-term results and had a positive impact on the city's ecosystem.

The work in the Turan district in 2025 can be considered a continuation of these projects. Because not only garbage collection, but also ongoing maintenance measures such as tree trimming, lawn watering, and grass cutting ensure environmental sustainability.

The impact of these activities on the environment is significant. Maintaining lawns and grass reduces the amount of dust in the air and regulates the temperature in the city. Proper pruning of trees allows them to grow properly, get rid of diseases and live longer. Watering flower beds and keeping them clean not only improves the aesthetics of the city, but also has a positive effect on the life of bees and other pollinating insects.

Regular cleaning measures also prevent the pollution of waterways and harmful waste from garbage entering the ecosystem. This, in turn, helps preserve the city's rivers, lakes, and groundwater. Such measures stabilize the microclimate and increase the amount of greenery in the city.

The level of public participation has also increased. Volunteers, residents, and business representatives participate in the cleanups, showing their commitment to the city. This increases the environmental culture of the city's population and instills a sense of shared responsibility. The participation of residents in cleaning is an indicator of the growth of social capital.

These 2025 works are much more effective and sustainable than previous one-time campaigns. If the cleaning activities of 2024 were mostly seasonal and yielded short-term results, this year's systematic cleaning and landscaping contribute to the sustainable development of the ecosystem. Some cleaning campaigns that were previously only a showpiece are now becoming part of real city policy.

Maintaining green areas not only enhances the beauty of the city, but also has a direct impact on health. Clean air, shady areas, green barriers that protect against noise - all this has a positive impact on the quality of life of a person. Children's playgrounds and recreation areas also become comfortable and safe environments as a result of landscaping work.

In short, the cleaning and landscaping work that began on July 25 and is being systematically continued is a concrete step towards improving the ecosystem of Shymkent. As a continuation of projects from previous years, this initiative will lead to positive changes not only in the environmental, but also in the social and cultural spheres. The beauty of the city lies in its cleanliness and greenery. Continuous work in this direction is not only an ecological but also a key mechanism for improving the quality of life of city residents.
