With the swimming season in full swing, servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan are carrying out preventive measures aimed at preventing accidents near water bodies.
As part of the campaign, guardsmen patrol coastal areas across the country, distribute leaflets with water safety rules, and conduct awareness talks with vacationers. Special attention is given to minors who are found near water bodies without adult supervision.
The main goal is to prevent tragedies and remind citizens of simple but vital safety rules. It is especially important to keep an eye on children, not to swim beyond buoys, avoid entering the water while intoxicated, and refrain from swimming in prohibited areas.
In their daily duties, guardsmen encounter various emergency situations and have repeatedly managed to save drowning people. Exactly a month ago, on June 27, Sergeant Murat Tusekeyev and Junior Sergeant Zhambyl Tansykbay in Kyzylorda saved a man from drowning in the Syrdarya River. Just last week in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Corporal Permabek Zhanasbek was awarded the “Izgi Zhurek” prize for rescuing a girl from the Ulba River.
The National Guard and the Ministry of Emergency Situations urge citizens to remain vigilant and responsible, and to follow safety precautions. Safety starts with each of us!
