The number of educational grants for water specialties has increased in Kazakhstan
Today, about 10 thousand specialists work in water management enterprises. Taking into account the construction of new facilities and according to the analysis of the age of water sector workers, the need for about 2 thousand specialists is projected for the next 4-5 years. A year ago, in July 2024, the Kazakh National University of Water Management and Irrigation was established, a specialized university focused on solving the shortage of qualified personnel. This was stated by Director of the Department of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Lyazzat Dzhusipova at a press conference in the CCS.
