According to official data from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the final growth of the country's economy in 2024 was 5%. Previously, according to preliminary estimates, GDP growth was 4.8%.
According to the BNS, economic growth in 2024 is largely due to the development of the non-oil sector. The production of goods increased by 6.3% (preliminary data – 5.5%), the service sector showed an increase of 4.6%.
One of the key factors was the increase in production in the manufacturing industry by 6.8% (previously – 5.9%). This is the highest figure since 2011. The construction sector also made a significant contribution by 15.3% (previously – 13.1%) and agriculture – 13.7% (previously – 13.3%).
Related industries have also demonstrated positive dynamics. The volume of domestic trade increased by 8.9% (previously - 8.8%), transport and warehousing services — by 9.4% (previously – 8.5%).
The achieved results were made possible by measures to support the real sector, develop transport and logistics infrastructure, stimulate investment activity and expand the availability of financial instruments.
The comprehensive implementation of economic policy contributed to the strengthening of domestic demand, the growth of entrepreneurial activity and the expansion of production potential.
Thus, the basis is being created for further sustainable growth and economic diversification due to the positive dynamics of key industries, in particular, in the manufacturing industry – 12.4% of GDP, exceeding the share of the mining industry (12%).
