A solemn military oath ceremony was held at military unit 6636 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the capital, Astana. This momentous event marked the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of young conscripts, symbolizing their commitment to the honorable duty of defending the Motherland.
This year, 125 conscripts arrived at the unit from the North Kazakhstan, Zhetysu, Kostanay, and Pavlodar regions. To the sound of the National Anthem and in the presence of their families, unit command, and veterans, the recruits pledged to fulfill their military duty with honor.
Colonel Yerlan Buranbayev, commander of the unit, emphasized the significance of the oath in his address:
“From this day forward, you are soldiers of the National Guard. You swore your allegiance before the people, your parents, and your conscience. Remember: discipline, loyalty, and courage are not just words — they are the essence of your service.”
The ceremony was enriched by a heartfelt performance of the song “Ana” by Private Rasul Saparbek, which deeply moved many guests, especially the mothers seeing their sons off to service.
Lieutenant Colonel Bakhtiyar Aubakirov, head of the training center, also addressed the recruits:
“Service in the National Guard is a school of life. I am confident that each of you will prove yourselves worthy, endure the challenges of army life with honor, and emerge stronger — both physically and spiritually.”
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Feliks Dulsky, Chairman of the Veterans Council of Unit 6636, and retired Major Insafitdin Gareyev extended congratulations and best wishes to the young soldiers, encouraging them to remain strong in spirit and loyal to their duty.
Colonel of the State Security Service and Karabakh war veteran Yevgeny Lavrenyuk shared his combat experience, stressing the value of unity, mutual support, and self-belief in the military. He expressed confidence that service in the National Guard would become a vital lesson in life and courage for the young men.
A touching speech was delivered by Zakyt Kalyamova, grandmother of one of the soldiers, who spoke on behalf of the parents and families, expressing pride in the recruits and wishing them good health, a successful service, and a proud return home.
The ceremony concluded with demonstrations of hand-to-hand combat techniques by the 1st-2025 draft soldiers. Of special note was the performance by the Honor Guard Company of the National Guard. After the event, the soldiers and their families gathered for a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
