Akmola region is one of the three leaders of the country in agriculture. Last year, the region harvested a record harvest, and farmers received significant government support – preferential loans, cheaper fuel, equipment leasing and the construction of dairy farms. Akim of the region Marat Akhmetzhanov spoke about the achievements and plans in this area at the briefing.
In 2024, the region's farmers showed the best result in recent years – 6.6 million tons of grain were harvested. Currently, the work is not slowing down: efforts are aimed at strengthening the region's position and maintaining record figures.
According to Marat Akhmetzhanov, the region is showing steady growth in all key areas. Today, the region produces more than a quarter of Kazakhstan's total wheat – about 5.2 million tons, 30% of poultry meat (125 thousand tons per year) and 16% of eggs (about 690 million pieces). Since the beginning of the year, the volume of agricultural sector products has increased from 149 to 161 billion tenge.
Animal husbandry is also developing. The number of cows increased by 10% (over 450,000 heads), sheep and goats – by 15% (725,000), horses – by almost 10% (over 294,000), and birds – by 6% (about 10 million heads).
