Ahead of the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev, a cultural and educational contest titled “Talap, enbek, tereg oi” (“Aspiration, Labor, Deep Thought”) was held in Aktobe Region. The event brought together representatives of various ethnocultural associations of the region and took place in the regional center — the city of Aktobe.

According to the results, Corporal Anatoly Galkin, a serviceman of military unit 6655 of the “Batys” Regional Command of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, won a prestigious second place. He gave an outstanding performance by reciting Abai’s works in Kazakh, demonstrating deep understanding of their meaning and philosophy.

The jury especially noted his excellent command of the state language and his thoughtful analysis of the great poet’s legacy. Corporal Galkin’s performance became a vivid example of interethnic harmony, civic maturity, and respect for Kazakhstan’s spiritual heritage.

“Abai’s legacy is an inexhaustible source of spirituality, relevant for all generations. His ideas resonate with everyone striving for discipline, morality, and self-improvement. Studying the Kazakh language is my personal contribution to strengthening civic identity,” said Guardsman Anatoly Galkin.

The contest was organized by the Aktobe Regional Department for Language Development with the support of public associations.

Such initiatives contribute to the implementation of state language policy, the development of interethnic cultural dialogue, and the strengthening of national unity.
