Kazakhstan and IIUI Strengthen Academic and Interfaith Cooperation

Islamabad, 6 August 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, held a meeting with the newly appointed President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Mr. Saad Al Ahmed.
During the meeting, Ambassador Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin congratulated Mr. Saad Al Ahmed on his appointment and expressed confidence that, under his leadership, cooperation between the University and the Kazakh side, in particular with the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, as well as universities of Kazakhstan, would continue and further strengthen. The Ambassador briefed the President on the history and main objectives of the Congress, highlighting the consistent support and active participation of IIUI leadership in its activities. He also handed over the official invitation to attend the upcoming VIII Congress.
In response, President Mr. Saad Al Ahmed confirmed his participation and expressed keen interest in further developing collaboration with the Kazakh side.
In addition, the two sides discussed prospects for establishing partnerships between the universities of the two countries. In particular, an agreement was reached to establish a joint research center at IIUI in cooperation with a Kazakh university.
