The First Meeting of the Kazakh-Pakistani Working Group on Agriculture

Islamabad, August 6, 2025 – The first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan Joint Working Group on Agriculture was held in an online format with the participation of representatives from the relevant agencies of both countries. The meeting was co-chaired by Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. E.Kenzhekhanuly, and Deputy Minister for National Food Security and Research of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. A. Muhyuddin.

During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, as well as the significant potential of the agricultural sector, as evidenced by the annual growth in the share of agricultural products in the total volume of bilateral trade.

Particular attention during the negotiations was given to systemic measures aimed at increasing the volume of bilateral trade in agricultural and livestock products.

The parties discussed issues related to the coordination of actions and harmonization of requirements in the areas of phytosanitary and veterinary control, quarantine, pest control, as well as expanding cooperation between specialized research institutions and enhancing the exchange of experience in the agricultural and livestock sectors.

The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation between the relevant agencies of both countries and to promptly prepare the necessary agreements in priority areas for their subsequent signing and practical implementation.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold the next session of the Joint Working Group in an in-person format in September 2025 in Islamabad in order to coordinate draft documents and further steps.
