A LARGE-SCALE SATURDAY WAS HELD IN SHYMKENT CITY AS PART OF THE "CLEAN KAZAKHSTAN" CAMPAIGN

On August 9, 2025, a large-scale cleanup was organized in Shymkent as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" environmental campaign to form an ecological culture and improve the sanitary conditions of the city.

The event was attended by akimats of Abay, Al-Farabi, Enbekshi, Karatau and Turan districts, municipal institutions, public organizations, business entities, volunteers, district activists and city residents.

Cleaning work was carried out in the "Shymysti" microdistrict in the Abay district. Roads, sidewalks, irrigation systems were cleaned on Al-Farabi Street and other streets, grass was mowed, lawns were cut, and other sanitary works were carried out. About 400 people participated in the clean-up, and 18 pieces of equipment were mobilized. As a result, 34 tons of garbage were removed.

In the Al-Farabi district, dead trees and branches were cut, grass was mowed, and the areas were cleaned of garbage. 414 people participated in the cleaning work, and 14 special equipment was used. In total, 32 tons of garbage were removed and taken to the landfill.

In the Enbekshy district, roadsides were cleaned, dead trees and branches were cut, grass was mowed, and sanitary work was carried out in yards and public areas. More than 1,000 people participated in the cleanup, 31 pieces of equipment were mobilized, and 75 tons of garbage were removed.

The district akim Almas Abayev attended the Saturday event in Karatau district and called on residents to be united, compassionate, and keep their environment clean. Public organizations, entrepreneurs, and volunteers worked together to clean streets and yards from garbage. The collected waste was taken to special landfills.

In Turan district, cleaning operations were carried out simultaneously in five areas. More than 20 special equipment and hundreds of city residents participated in the cleanup. In his speech to the residents, the chairman of the district veterans' council, Adilbek Satybaldy, noted that keeping the environment clean is an indicator of the culture and responsibility of every citizen.

— "Cleanliness is a sign of culture and neatness. Respect for the environment begins in the yard of our own home. Today's Sabbath is an expression of compassion for nature," he said.

Along with the city residents, grandmothers from the Ak-Zhauli region also participated in the event, setting an example for the youth. They said that protecting nature is a legacy for future generations and that it is important for all residents to participate in such events.

In general, the city's residents are positively accepting and actively supporting the "Clean Kazakhstan" state program. Recently, a special attitude towards a culture of cleanliness has been formed in Shymkent, and the environmental responsibility of residents is increasing.

Such Sabbaths will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to the beautification of the city, improving the environment, and providing environmental education to future generations.
