This year, the Prosecutor’s Office is widely celebrating the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great poet, educator, and thinker Abai Qunanbaiuly.
From July 21 to August 10, a nationwide relay flash mob "Abai’s Day – the Voice of Unity" was held, in which prosecutors across the country recited his poems and performed his songs, passing the baton to one another.
The winners of the 2024 national Abai Readings took part in the educational expedition "Prosecutors in Abai’s Land" along the route Astana – Semey – Karaul, visiting places connected with the life and work of the great poet.
On Abai’s birthday, August 10, solemn flower-laying ceremonies were held at his monuments in all regions of the country.
Currently, the nationwide contest "Bes Asyl Is" (“Five Virtuous Deeds”)—which includes poetry readings, singing, and other activities, and is aimed at strengthening generational continuity with the participation of employees and their children—is nearing completion.
The final chord of the anniversary events will be the closing celebration "Men bir zhumbak adammin…" (“I am a mysterious man…”), which the General Prosecutor’s Office will hold on September 5, summarizing the results of the 180th anniversary celebrations of Abai.
The name and legacy of Abai are a symbol of unity, wisdom, and the spiritual wealth of our people. His words continue to inspire, teaching honesty, diligence, and love for the Motherland.
