Tbilisi, August 12, 2025 – The staff of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Georgia and their families took part in the celebration of the Georgian folk holiday Didgoroba, held annually on August 12 in honor of the victory of King David IV the Builder’s army over the Seljuks in the Battle of Didgori in 1121.

According to the Georgian chronicle “Kartlis Tskhovreba,” an important role in the defeat of the Seljuks at the Battle of Didgori was played by Kipchak warriors led by Artyk Khan, who responded to King David’s request.

The victory at the Battle of Didgori marked the beginning of the “Golden Age” of Georgian history, during which the country reached the peak of its statehood, economy, and culture.

Kazakh diplomats familiarized themselves with examples of cultural heritage and folk crafts presented at the festive event and watched a theatrical and choreographic performance.
