Kazakh Ambassador Attends Working Session between Ho Chi Minh City and Astana International Financial Centre

On July 9, H.E. Kanat Tumysh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Vietnam, joined Mr. Renat Bekturov, Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), at a high-level working. 

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, and attended by heads of relevant departments and agencies. Both sides discussed the potential for collaboration and shared experiences in developing international financial center models.

The AIFC delegation presented Kazakhstan’s successful financial center model, highlighting its favorable investment policies and a unique legal framework. The delegation expressed willingness to share insights and support Ho Chi Minh City in its own roadmap toward establishing an international financial hub. Ambassador Kanat Tumysh emphasized Kazakhstan’s strategic role as a connector between Asia and Europe and affirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to provide technical support and promote cooperation in finance and banking with Ho Chi Minh City. He also praised the city’s forward-looking vision, especially as Vietnam and Kazakhstan recently elevated their ties to a Strategic Partnership.

The meeting marked an important step toward strengthening economic and financial cooperation between the two countries, reaffirming the Embassy’s role in facilitating strategic engagement between Kazakhstan and Vietnamese localities and institutions.
