Kazakhstan Develops Financial Cooperation with China

As part of a working visit to Beijing on August 13, 2025, Mr. Dauren Kengbeil, Vice Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, held bilateral meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Finance of China, the People's Bank of China (PBoC), the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors of China (NAFMII), as well as the Export-Import Bank of China (Eximbank).
During the meeting with Mr. Liao Min, Vice Minister of Finance, the parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation and the expansion of bilateral financial relations.
«China is an important strategic and investment partner for Kazakhstan. The Government of Kazakhstan continues active work to strengthen cooperation with China's financial institutions. Such business contacts allow us to elevate our relations to a new level», - noted Mr. Dauren Kengbeil.
In turn, Mr. Liao Min highly praised the level of economic relations and the prospects for bilateral cooperation. The Chinese side welcomed Kazakhstan's interest in yuan-denominated financial instruments in China's financial market.
In order to enhance further partnership, the parties agreed to conclude an interagency memorandum of cooperation.
In negotiations with Mr. Xuan Changneng, Deputy Governor of the PBoC, and Mr. Xu Zhong, Deputy Secretary General of NAFMII, the parties exchanged views on the current situation in international financial markets, the development of financial cooperation, and agreed to collaborate on the issuance of yuan-denominated bonds in the Chinese market.
With the Export-Import Bank of China, the discussion focused on the progress of investment project implementation.
Based on the results of the meetings, both sides expressed confidence in the implementation of joint projects, the further development of the partnership, and the achievement of mutually beneficial goals.
