The 16th Asian Shooting Championship has begun in Shymkent

The mayor of the city, Gabit Syzdykbekov, together with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan - President of the Kazakhstan Shooting Federation, Berik Asylov, as well as the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, and the Chairman of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ruslan Yesenalin, attended the opening ceremony of this large-scale sporting event.
The mayor congratulated the athletes, coaches, and guests on the start of the championship and expressed his gratitude to the organizers, sports federations, and citizens who made efforts to hold the tournament at a high level.
It is worth noting that the championship, which was held with the support of the city administration, was attended by distinguished guests. Among them were Luciano Rossi, President of the International Shooting Sport Federation, Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Head of the Asian Shooting Confederation, and representatives of world sports organizations. Their presence testifies to the high status of the competition.
From August 16 to 30, 800 athletes from 27 countries will compete in pistol, rifle, moving target, skeet, trap, skeet and skeet-mix at the Shymkent Shooting Plaza. More than 700 medals will be awarded during the championship. The competition will also be held in two Olympic sports: target shooting and skeet shooting.
The purpose of the competition is to promote shooting sports, improve the skills of athletes, determine their ratings, and improve the professional qualifications of coaches and judges.
