The 16th Asian Championship in Bullet and Shotgun Shooting has started in Shymkent. Akim of the city Gabit Syzdykbekov together with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan - President of the Kazakhstan Federation of Sport Shooting Berik Asylov, as well as the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and the Chairman of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ruslan Yesenalin took part in the opening ceremony of this large-scale sporting event.

The Akim of Shymkent congratulated the athletes, coaches and guests on the start of the championship, expressed gratitude to the organizers, sports federations and everyone who made efforts to hold the tournament at a high level.

It should be noted that the championship, held with the support of the city akimat, brought together a large number of distinguished guests. Among them are the President of the International Shooting Federation Luciano Rossi, the head of the Asian Shooting Confederation Sheikh Salman Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah, and representatives of world sports organizations. Their participation emphasizes the high status of the competition and the international authority of Kazakhstan.

From August 16 to 30, more than 800 athletes from 27 countries will compete in the disciplines of "pistol", "rifle", "moving target", "skeet shooting", "trap", "skeet" and "skeet mixed" at the "Shymkent Shooting Plaza". Over 700 medals will be awarded during the championship.

The purpose of the competition is to popularize shooting sports in Kazakhstan and beyond, improve the athletic skills of athletes, determine the rating of athletes and improve the professional qualifications of coaches and judges.
