2500 GIFTED SCHOOLCHILDREN WILL BE ABLE TO TRAIN IN THE NEW CAMP IN SHYMKENT

Akim of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov announced at the August conference of teachers that, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, starting from the new academic year, the Presidential residence in Shymkent will begin to operate as a camp for gifted children.

This center will be attended by Olympiad winners, young inventors, talented schoolchildren who are passionate about science, culture and art. Here they will be able to discover their abilities, exchange ideas and find like-minded people.

The camp will operate all year round. Each shift is designed for 50-60 children, and about 2,500 young talents will complete the special educational program per year.

All necessary conditions will be created for the children: modern educational and cultural halls, sports grounds, a library, a medical center, cozy bedrooms and an environmentally friendly yard. The institution will be equipped with modern equipment and fully comply with safety requirements.

“This initiative is an important step towards educating the country’s future leaders and a practical embodiment of the Head of State’s concern for young people,” noted Gabit Syzdykbekov.

The August conference of teachers "Bilim Keleshegi: Adal Azamat, Kasibi Maman", where this statement was made, brought together more than 2,100 participants. The Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gani Beisembayev, representatives of universities and colleges, members of public councils, veteran teachers, school principals and parents took part in its work.

During the conference, the tasks of the new academic year were considered, including the development of digital literacy of teachers, the introduction of modern technologies and the formation of a socially responsible individual.

In Shymkent, the 2025–2026 school year will begin in 1,352 educational institutions, where over 397 thousand children will study. About 28 thousand students are planned to be admitted to the first grades. Currently, six educational facilities are being built in the city, including two new schools, three additional extensions and one dormitory. Before the start of the school year, three facilities will be commissioned - two schools and an additional building. In addition, ten buildings of educational institutions are undergoing major repairs.
