During the weekend, participants cleaned streets and yards of garbage, cut down dead trees and bushes, mowed grass, whitewashed trees, and carried out landscaping and planting works.

Many Shymkent residents said that participating in this action was not only a contribution to the cleanliness of the city, but also an opportunity to feel unity.
"We came with our families, we wanted to show our children that cleanliness starts with each of us," said a resident of Karatau district.
"When you work alongside students, doctors, teachers, and our neighbors, you realize that this common cause unites us," the Sabbath participant added.

The "Clean Kazakhstan" campaign is part of Shymkent's comprehensive plan for the implementation of the state program of the same name for the period until 2029. Its goal is to maintain the cleanliness of the city, improve the environmental situation, and form an environmental culture among residents.
