Brandenburg plays a significant role in promoting innovation in Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector

Berlin, August 27, 2025 - The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Germany hosted a meeting between H.E. Nurlan Onzhanov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Federal Republic of Germany, and Hanka Mittelstädt, Minister of Agriculture, Food, Environmental and Consumer protection of the Federal state of Brandenburg.
They discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, and education and highlighted the great potential for expanding mutually beneficial interactions.
Ambassador Nurlan Onzhanov emphasized that strengthening cooperation with the federal state of Brandenburg is crucial for developing Kazakh-German relations and opening up new horizons in agriculture, sustainable development, digitalization, and the scientific and educational spheres.
«The exchange between Kazakhstan and Germany in agriculture has long-standing and fruitful traditions dating back to the last century. To preserve this tradition, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the German Association Apollo e.V., and Brandenburg’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Environmental and Consumer Protection (MLEUV) have successfully implemented a project to provide practical training to students from the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (Almaty) and the West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University named after Zhangir Khan (Oral) at leading agricultural enterprises in the region," noted the Kazakh diplomat», – noted the Kazakh diplomat.
Minister Hanka Mittelstädt highly appreciatув the program’s contribution to developing human capital and emphasized its practical value. She underlined the success of the cooperation and expressed readiness to continue supporting initiatives aimed at knowledge exchange and best practices.
«The process of mutual learning strengthens not only the friendship between our countries, but also our joint work on shaping the future of agriculture in Europe, Kazakhstan, and worldwide. In the context of growing cooperation between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Kazakhstan, this educational project also holds high political value», – the Minister stressed.
Kazakh students who completed internships at agricultural enterprises in Brandenburg shared their positive experiences and expressed gratitude to both the Kazakh and German governments for providing them with the opportunity to learn about modern agricultural technologies and management approaches.
