On August 27, the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk hosted the Forum “Voice of the Region: Public Councils as Drivers of Change”, which became a dialogue platform for discussing new approaches to the development of civil society. The event was dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main focus was placed on the role of public councils in promoting regional development. The forum program included sessions on various topics: protection of the rights of vulnerable groups, environmental initiatives, youth engagement, and rural development. Issues of civil society development, NGO support, and volunteerism were also addressed.

As part of the event, active representatives of the civil sector were awarded letters of gratitude on behalf of the regional akim.

This forum once again confirmed the importance of citizen participation through Public Councils — it is a path from discussion to results, from problems to solutions. Together, we can make our region stronger and fairer.
