Helsinki, August 29, 2025 – The delegation of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy paid a working visit to Finland.

As part of the program, the Agency’s representatives visited the «Olkiluoto» Nuclear Power Plant, where they got acquainted with the operating experience of reactors, modern safety technologies and the practice of handling spent nuclear fuel. Special attention was paid to the reliability of reactors and radiation protection systems.

A meeting was also held with Director General of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority of Finland (STUK) Petteri Tiippana. During the discussion, the parties explored issues of regulation of nuclear facilities, the provision of nuclear and radiation safety, as well as prospects for further cooperation between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the visit, Kazakhstan and Finland expressed their commitment to strengthening partnership and expanding cooperation, including in the development of a safety culture and the implementation of international standards at nuclear energy facilities.
