Seoul, August 30, 2025 – A lecture by Ambassador of Kazakhstan Nurgali Arystanov was held in Seoul on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was organized with the support of the international youth organization HOBY Korea.
In his speech, the Ambassador emphasized that the Constitution of Kazakhstan has become a solid legal foundation for independence, democracy, and sustainable development of the state. The Basic Law enshrines the rights and freedoms of citizens, defines the country’s strategic course for modernization and reforms, and serves as a guarantor of political stability and social harmony.
The Kazakh diplomat stressed that Kazakhstan has transformed into a country with an active foreign policy and a dynamically developing economy. As a middle power, Kazakhstan plays an important role as a bridge between East and West, consistently implementing the initiatives of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the international stage.
Special attention was given to the development of Kazakh-Korean relations, which today have reached the level of an Expanded Strategic Partnership. The cooperation covers a wide range of areas – from political dialogue and economy to science, education, and cultural exchange. More than 1,200 Kazakh students are currently studying in South Korea, while 20 regular weekly flights connect Seoul and Busan with Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent, contributing to stronger people-to-people ties.
The lecture sparked great interest among students of international schools, who actively asked questions about Kazakhstan’s foreign policy priorities, including the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, CICA, and the role of youth in strengthening intercultural dialogue.
The event served as an important platform for enhancing the atmosphere of trust and friendship between Kazakhstan and Korea, opening new opportunities for youth exchange and mutual understanding.
