Citizens' support for President Tokayev's political course remains high

The Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted a mass survey of the population from July 11 to August 12 this year. The sample size was 8,000 respondents. Respondents over 18 years of age from 17 regions and cities of national significance Astana, Almaty and Shymkent took part in the survey.

According to the sociological survey data, respondents noted a high level of public trust in the institution of the president.

The head of state consistently occupies a leading position in the rating – 82.4% of citizens trust President Tokayev.

Young people aged 18-29 trust the Head of State the most (90.3%). Next come the age groups 30-45 (82.4%), 46-60 (78.6%) and 61+ (77.8%). The rural population trusts the President slightly more than the urban population (84.9 and 80.9%, respectively). At the same time, the trust rating is practically at the same level among respondents with different income levels and employment levels.

The analysis of the obtained data also shows that the Head of State is trusted to the greatest extent by workers in the fields of education (89.6%) and healthcare (84.5%), civil servants (87.1%), law enforcement officers (96.9%), representatives of the agricultural sector (86.2%), science (85.7%), culture and art (85.9%).

Thus, the results of the sociological study demonstrate a consistently high level of public trust in the Head of State, which underlines the effectiveness of the state policy in the eyes of citizens.
