Last year, in a number of regions there were instances of calls for separation from the country in favor of certain individuals.
In accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the sovereignty of the Republic extends to its entire territory. The state ensures the integrity, inviolability and inalienability of its territory.
Article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides that propaganda or public calls for violation of the unitarity and integrity of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the inviolability and inalienability of its territory or the disintegration of the state, as well as the production, storage for the purpose of distribution or distribution of materials of such content are punishable by a maximum of imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years with or without deprivation of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In the Republic of Kazakhstan, human rights and freedoms are recognized and guaranteed. Citizens, by virtue of their citizenship, have rights and bear responsibilities.
The exercise of human and civil rights and freedoms must not violate the rights and freedoms of others, encroach on the constitutional order and public morality - Article 12 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In addition, the above article has no statute of limitations (Article 3, Part 1, Clause 39 and Article 71, Part 6 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
