As a result of the joint work of the Department of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology in the Abay region with the Department of State Revenues, unsafe household appliances posing a threat to consumers were exported from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Violations were identified during the import of products for which declarations of conformity were provided for a tabletop electric stove.

After conducting laboratory tests of the tabletop electric stove, it was revealed that with a declared nominal power of 3500 W, the actual power was only 1960 W, which is almost 44% below the norm. In addition, experts recorded discrepancies in the parameters of the AC power ports. There was also no information for consumers in the state language.

Such deviations not only violate the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union TR CU 004/2011 "On the safety of low-voltage equipment", but also create real risks for consumers, infringe on their rights. Unstable operation of the device can lead to overheating, failure of internal elements and even fire. This is especially dangerous during long-term operation at maximum load.

Based on the results, measures were applied to the conformity assessment documents, the declaration of conformity was suspended, notifications were sent to the supplier and the conformity assessment body that issued the above conformity assessment documents. The importer returned the low-quality electric stove to the manufacturer in the amount of 1002 units, thereby preventing distribution in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
