Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his condolences to President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and the entire Portuguese people following the tragic incident in central Lisbon, which resulted in numerous casualties.

In his personal message, the President of Kazakhstan stated:
"At this difficult time, I share your grief and, on behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and personally, I extend my deepest condolences to you, to the families who have lost their loved ones, and to the friendly people of Portugal.

I wish the relatives and friends of the deceased patience and strength, and a speedy recovery to all those injured.".
