A memorandum on the implementation of the "Smart City" project was signed between the Shymkent city administration and Kazakhtelecom JSC. The document was signed by the city's mayor Gabit Syzdykbekov and the company's chairman of the board Bagdat Musin.

The agreement envisages the launch of pilot solutions within the framework of the "Smart Shymkent" roadmap. It is planned to test and integrate digital services aimed at creating a comfortable environment and increasing the safety of residents.

The new system will focus on creating a centralized infrastructure control system, implementing a unified drone infrastructure, as well as automating security processes, monitoring the environmental situation, and rapid response to emergencies.

For example, a unified infrastructure of drones will allow for road repair, garbage removal, monitoring the installation of road signs, as well as monitoring illegal construction and garbage dumps. It is worth noting that Kazakhtelecom JSC has successfully implemented such a project in the Akmola region. Now digital solutions will be gradually introduced in the city of Shymkent.

The city mayor expressed his gratitude to the management and specialists of Kazakhtelecom JSC for their partnership and readiness to introduce advanced technologies. He also expressed confidence that the joint project will bring significant benefits to the city and its residents.

Within the framework of the roadmap, 13 pilot projects based on modern digital solutions will be implemented in Shymkent. These include drone infrastructure, video surveillance systems with artificial intelligence, "smart" meters, environmental monitoring, a national video monitoring system, medical AI solutions ("AI therapist", CerebraAI), road quality control, a GovTech platform, smart video tokens, as well as a single contact center for citizens (Jardem 109).
