Rio de Janeiro, September 4–5, 2025 – The 6th International Conference “Spiritual Silk Road: The Role of Spiritual and Moral Values in Bringing Nations and Continents Closer Together” was held. Within the framework of the Conference, the 2nd Meeting of Muslim Spiritual Leaders of BRICS Countries took place, along with the awarding ceremony of the International Prize in Quran Recitation to representatives of BRICS nations.

The events were organized by the Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS) and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities (UAE). Participants discussed the role of universal spiritual and moral values and the importance of preserving harmony in the world. Spiritual leaders also expressed confidence that peoples from different continents would make a significant contribution to strengthening interethnic and interfaith cooperation.

Kazakhstan was represented by the Chairman of the Committee on Socio-Cultural Development and Science of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurtore Zhussip. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of the policy of interethnic and interfaith harmony pursued in the country under the leadership of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and informed participants about the upcoming 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to be held in Astana on September 17–18. This, he noted, demonstrates Kazakhstan’s firm commitment to deepening interreligious and intercivilizational dialogue worldwide.
