Kazakh athletes took part in the world championship on kung-fu and wushu in Brasilia

Brasilia, September 7, 2025 - For the first time in Latin America, competitions in wushu-sanda (martial arts) and wushu-taolu (technical and choreographic elements) were held from September 1 to 7 in Brasilia. The capital of Brazil has established itself as an international center of wushu-kung-fu. The competition was organized by the Brazilian Confederation of Kungfu Wushu (CBKW) with the support of the Department of Sport and Leisure (SEL-D).
More than 800 athletes from 77 countries took part in the competition. The national team of Kazakhstan at the championship was represented by seven athletes. In particular, Tursunkulov Nursultan in the category of 100 kg. (absolute weight) and Ablagatov Alizhan in the category of 70 kg. (wushu sanda) took first and second place respectively.
For reference: in recent years Brasilia has hosted the World Junior Championships (2018), the Pan American Championships (2022) and several Brazilian Championships in these sports, highly appreciated for their organization and high technical level.
