On September 9, 2025, Ambassador-at-Large – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Zhanibek Abdrashov, held a working meeting with the Head of the Subregional Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for Central Asia, Dumitru Lipcanu.

The parties discussed the expansion of cooperation in supporting refugees and stateless persons, as well as the prospects of the work of the UN Regional Center on Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to actively support interaction in bilateral and multilateral formats.
