Meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico

Mexico City, September 9, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almurat Turganbekov, met with the newly appointed Director General for Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Anibal Gomez Toledo.
During the conversation, the parties compare notes on the most pressing issues of Kazakh-Mexican relations and discussed prospects for their further development. Special attention was given to concrete plans to strengthen cooperation in various areas.
The interlocutors shared the view that Astana and Mexico City play key roles in their respective regions – Central Asia and Latin America – and possess great potential for promoting interregional cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the activation of inter-parliamentary dialogue and the preparation of the next round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan and Mexico.
Ambassador Almurat Turganbekov informed the Mexican side about the political and socio-economic reforms taking place in Kazakhstan under the leadership of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and presented the key points of the President’s annual State of the Nation Address to the People of Kazakhstan, titled “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Solutions through Digital Transformation”, delivered on September 8 of this year.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Both sides agreed to maintain regular contact and continue a constructive dialogue.
