Currently, the whole world is actively introducing mass digitization and artificial intelligence technologies. Our country has not remained aloof from this process, making digital transformation one of the main directions in the country's development. In the Address to the people of Kazakhstan by Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev entitled "Kazakhstan in the era of artificial intelligence: current issues and their solution through radical digital transformations", special priority was given to artificial intelligence and healthcare.
In his Address, the President noted that Kazakhstan has entered the era of artificial intelligence. The introduction of this advanced technology into all sectors will undoubtedly increase the country's potential. "The main aspects of our strategic direction should be digitalization and artificial intelligence," the Head of State said.
The state is taking systematic measures to develop the healthcare system. Medical facilities in urban and rural areas are being gradually upgraded. In addition, new medical institutions are being opened in large cities and provided with modern equipment.
"As part of the national project "Modernization of Healthcare in Rural Areas," 540 facilities have been built, and another 115 facilities will be put into operation by the end of this year. And in urban areas, a number of large facilities related to the healthcare sector have been launched. For example, an oncology center was opened in Astana, and a scientific center for infectious diseases in Almaty," the President noted.
In addition, it was noted that previously built multi-specialty hospitals should be transferred to the public without being hampered by bureaucratic obstacles. It was proposed to continue the construction of new facilities within the framework of public-private partnerships. I believe that such initiatives, in turn, will pave the way for the development of regional medicine.
The pharmaceutical industry has not been left out. It is known that the pandemic has shown us the importance of the availability of medicines on the domestic market and domestic production. Therefore, the Head of State noted that the current task is to increase the type and volume of medicines produced in the country.
