The International Congress of Cardiac Surgeons on the topic "Innovations, Technologies and World Experience: the Future of Cardiac Surgery is in Our Hands" was held in Shymkent, timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Shymkent Cardiology Center. Leading specialists from Kazakhstan, the CIS countries and far abroad took part in the large-scale event. They exchanged experiences and discussed advanced solutions in the field of cardiac surgery.
At the opening of the congress, Akim of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov spoke, noting the center’s quarter-century contribution to the development of medicine.
"The Akimat always supports good initiatives in the field of medicine, paying special attention to the development of infrastructure, the creation of favorable conditions for doctors and the introduction of innovations. Your experience, scientific research and innovative approaches are a solid foundation for high-quality and affordable medicine. The achievements of this center are the pride of not only Shymkent, but the entire country," the akim said.
Within the framework of the congress, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Shymkent Cardiology Center. This agreement is aimed at strengthening scientific partnership in the region and taking cardiology research to a new level.
Another significant event was the opening of a new scientific center for "Advanced Cardiology Research" on the basis of the existing center, with the support of the National Academy of Sciences. The initiator of its creation was the famous cardiac surgeon, academician Yuri Pya. This is the first such structure in the country, which will allow the development of new methods for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
The center's work will be based on an interdisciplinary approach that combines medicine, ecology, urban studies, psychology and digital technologies. Scientists will not only focus on the treatment of heart diseases, but will also actively work on new solutions for their prevention.
As President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted in his annual Address: "The health of the nation is the basis of sustainable development. We must not only treat diseases, but also prevent them, relying on science, technology and intersectoral cooperation." These words became the main vector of the congress's work.
The congress discussed topics such as minimally invasive and robotic surgeries, 3D modeling, experience in using navigation systems, as well as issues of developing international cooperation and supporting young specialists.
Among the key guests and speakers were the President of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev, Academician Yuri Pya, medical specialist Yelzhan Birtanov, and Chairman of the Board of the Shymkent Cardiology Center Darkhan Suigenbayev.
