The international congress of cardiac surgeons "Innovations, technologies and world experience: the future of cardiac surgery is in our hands" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the "Shymkent Heart Center" was held in Shymkent. Leading specialists from Kazakhstan, the CIS countries and abroad participated in this large-scale meeting, presenting new experiences and advanced solutions in the field of cardiac surgery.

At the event, the mayor of Shymkent, Gabit Syzdykbekov, spoke about the center's quarter-century of work. The city leader noted the achievements of the heart center in medicine.

Within the framework of the Congress, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Shymkent Heart Center. This agreement is aimed at strengthening scientific cooperation in the region and raising research in the field of cardiology to a new level. Also, as a special event at the prestigious event, the Center for Cardiological Perspective Research was opened on the basis of the center with the support of the National Academy of Sciences. Its initiator is the famous cardiac surgeon, academician Yuri Pya. The new scientific structure will be launched for the first time in our country and will allow developing new methods of prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

The work of the center will be based on an interdisciplinary approach that combines medicine, ecology, urbanism, psychology and digital technologies. Scientists intend to offer new solutions not only for the treatment of heart disease, but also for its prevention. In this year's Address, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said: "The health of the nation is the basis of sustainable development. We need not only to treat the disease, but also to prevent it, relying on science, technology and interdisciplinary cooperation." These words determined the main direction of the congress.

The meeting discussed the experience of using minimally invasive and robotic-assisted operations, 3D modeling, and navigation systems in cardiac surgery. Issues of developing international cooperation and supporting young specialists were also raised.

Among the main guests and speakers of the congress were Akylbek Kurishbayev, President of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician Yuri Pya, medical specialist Yelzhan Birtanov, and Darkhan Suygenbayev, Chairman of the Board of the Shymkent Heart Center.

It is clear that the International Congress of Cardiac Surgeons in Shymkent will go down in history as an important event that gave impetus to the development of medical science, strengthened the scientific potential of the region, and improved the quality of cardiological care provided to the population.
