On August 30, 2025, another clean-up was organized in Shymkent as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" environmental campaign of republican significance. This time, the cleaning work took place on BYKOVSKY Street, Al-Farabi District.

The action was actively participated by employees of the district akimat, employees of the Al-Farabi municipal state institution, as well as local residents. In total, more than 130 people were mobilized to collect garbage piled up along the streets. In addition, 12 special vehicles - trucks, tractors and cleaning machines - were deployed, as a result of which about 10 tons of household waste were removed from the city.

The main goal of the holiday is to beautify our city, improve sanitary conditions, and form an ecological culture among residents. In recent years, environmental issues have been a concern not only for scientists and nature lovers, but also for ordinary residents. Irregular garbage disposal, the increase in household waste, and the non-degradability of plastic products - all of which cause great harm to the environment.

In this context, the Saturday cleaning campaigns organized as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" campaign are of particular importance. This is not just street cleaning, but systematic work aimed at instilling in people a sense of respect for nature.

The deputy akim of the district thanked the public for participating in the Saturday rally and called on residents to be active:
– Cleanliness is the civic duty of each of us. If everyone takes responsibility for keeping their yard and street clean, the image of the entire city will change. We are holding a Saturday not only to collect garbage, but also to promote environmental culture. Therefore, we ask residents to set an example for children by throwing garbage in designated places, - he said.

According to residents who participated in the action, such events bring people together and increase a sense of collective responsibility. A pensioner living on the street, Aliya, expressed her opinion:
– In the past, Sabbaths were held frequently. We are glad that they are still being held. Our streets are now clean, and the mood is uplifting. It is especially pleasing that young people are participating. Because they are the owners of the future, and they should learn compassion for nature from the very beginning, - he said.

And the young student Nurdaulet:
– We often see the topic of ecology on social media, but actually participating is a completely different feeling. Today, my friends and I participated and did something useful. From now on, I will try not to throw away garbage carelessly, – he shared.

During the weekend, not only was garbage collected, but the greenery on the streets was also put in order. Trees and bushes were trimmed and weeds were removed. These works will not only improve the aesthetic appearance of the city, but also help create a comfortable environment for residents.

According to experts, in recent years, the amount of garbage in the city has been increasing every year. Among them, plastic bottles, disposable cups, and plastic bags are the most common types of waste. Therefore, experts urge residents to use environmentally friendly, recyclable materials whenever possible.

At the end of Saturday, the organizers made a special appeal to the city's residents:
– Dear residents of the district! We urge you to not be indifferent to the environment and throw away your garbage in designated places. Each of us has the responsibility to keep our village and street clean and create a clean and comfortable environment for our children. The results of our joint efforts will always be fruitful, – the appeal states.

The "Clean Kazakhstan" campaign is not just a one-day holiday, but a big step towards increasing the ecological culture of the population. Through such events, residents will become more aware of the importance of protecting nature. If everyone keeps their yard clean, the whole city will be greener, cleaner and more beautiful.

Therefore, although this Sabbath may seem like a small event, its contribution to society is enormous. It is a noble initiative that unites people, mobilizes them for a common cause, and most importantly, fosters a sense of compassion for nature.
