On August 29, 2025, another cleanup day took place in Shymkent 's Yenbekshinsky District . This time, sanitation work was organized on Koykeldy Batyr Street , where residents, utility workers, and administration representatives worked together to restore order.

Traditionally, the cleanup program included a whole range of improvement activities:

  • cleaning road shoulders from debris and accumulated dirt;

  • mowing grass and tidying up lawns;

  • pruning and shaping trees and shrubs ;

  • removal of household and construction waste to special landfills.

The work was carried out in a proactive and organized manner. Dozens of people took to the streets early in the morning with shovels, rakes, and brooms, and municipal services provided trash removal equipment.

Organizing cleanup days in the district serves not only a practical purpose but also an educational one. The main goal is to foster environmental awareness and a caring attitude toward the environment among city residents. A clean yard, street, or neighborhood directly reflects the level of responsibility of residents.

Administration representatives emphasized that maintaining cleanliness should not be a one-time action, but a permanent habit for everyone.

Residents who took part in the event shared their impressions.

One participant noted:
"We always try to attend these cleanup days. After all, this is our neighborhood, our street, and if we don't keep it clean ourselves, who will? Plus, it's nice to work together—in just a few hours, the street is noticeably transformed."

Another resident said:
"I came with my children so they could see how important it is to keep things clean. Events like these foster respect for nature and their hometown."

The youth's activism is particularly noteworthy. Students and schoolchildren attended the cleanup and eagerly helped with the cleanup. For them, participating in such events is not only physical labor but also a valuable experience in civic responsibility.

According to the organizers, young people are role models for the older generation: if the younger generation gets used to cleanliness and order from a young age, the city will always be well-maintained and beautiful.

Municipal companies played a significant role. Their equipment—trucks and tractors—ensured the prompt removal of collected waste. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of volunteers and specialists, significant sections of the street and adjacent courtyards were cleared.

Utility workers also emphasized that such campaigns help them complete daily tasks more quickly and efficiently, as resident participation significantly speeds up the process.

Regular cleanups have a positive impact on fostering environmental awareness. The more often residents participate in cleanups, the less trash is left on the streets. After all, someone who has spent time and effort cleaning their street is unlikely to throw trash inappropriately.

The Yenbekshinsky District Administration announced that similar events will continue. Cleanup days are also planned for September in other parts of the district. Organizers invite all residents to actively participate in the events.

"A clean neighborhood means comfortable living. This is the motto we live by. Every resident should understand that a clean environment starts with them ," noted representatives of the akimat.

The August 29th cleanup demonstrated that joint efforts can achieve significant results. Koykeldy Batyr Street became cleaner, more well-maintained, and more comfortable. Participants expressed their willingness to continue the tradition.

Such events not only promote cleanup but also bring people together. When neighbors work side by side, it strengthens mutual understanding and community cohesion.

The cleanup day in the Yenbekshinsky District is more than just a cleanup; it's an important event that reminds everyone that the city's cleanliness depends on everyone.

August 29th was further proof that with the active participation of residents and the support of public utilities, the streets of Shymkent can be a model of order and comfort.
