On August 30, a Saturday morning event was held in Shymkent as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" republican environmental campaign on the banks of the Koshkar Ata River. This event was supported by the city's Department of Environmental Development. Residents and volunteers also worked together to clean the riverbank from garbage, remove dead branches and grass, and repair irrigation ditches and footpaths.
The main goal of the Sembilik is to maintain the ecological cleanliness of our city and create a comfortable and environmentally friendly environment for residents. However, this is not limited to just one spring Sembilik. Improvement work along the river continues to this day and is carried out systematically.
Today, the riverbank is being completely redeveloped: pedestrian paths will be paved, new lighting systems will be installed. Green flags will be planted, and recreation areas will be created. But the basis of any normal situation is sanitation .
In August 2025, the first concrete steps were taken to make the riverside area more accessible and clean for residents, not just by cleaning up trash. Today, this initiative has become a long-term system, and sanitation work is being carried out regularly.
According to the information provided by the city administration and departments, the current improvement work is not just a one-time event , but is based on a systematic plan. For example, engineering construction to improve the appearance of the embankment — new pedestrian paths, streetlights, benches, garbage cans and green spaces — is under constant control. In ensuring sanitary cleanliness, all departments — communal, environmental and administrative — are working with common responsibility.
The main difference is that if the August 30th Sabbath was organized to draw public attention to environmental awareness, then the current initiatives are a permanent and systematic structure aimed at maintaining sanitary cleanliness. This is not limited to one Sabbath, but a sign of daily care and monitoring.
The city's residents are also positive about these changes. There is no longer any garbage strewn along the riverbank, no damaged infrastructure, as before. Instead, there are new roads, a clean landscape, and air — everything is much more attractive to residents. It is especially noteworthy that this place has become a place suitable for children, the elderly, and families.
This project is a harmony of ecology, architecture, and public needs. Senbilik was a beginning, and the current improvement is its effective and sustainable continuation. Beauty and sanitation go hand in hand, turning the river into a real place of rest.
In the future, this place may even become a new tourism destination: cultural events, spiritual connection with nature, and community recreation are all planned here.
In short, if the August 30th Sabbath was the first step towards ecological cleanliness, the current improvement is a systematic, long-term effort aimed at raising the ecological culture of Shymkent to a new level. The task now is to maintain and further strengthen this cleanliness and convenience.
