Another important environmental event took place in Shymkent on September 7 , 2025. The personnel of the Department of the Penal System of the Republic of Kazakhstan (PSK), as well as employees of correctional institutions No. 53, No. 54, No. 56, No. 69 and No. 78 and representatives of the Probation Service jointly organized Saturday work .

This initiative was a major step aimed not only at maintaining the cleanliness of the city, but also at creating an environmental culture among residents.

According to the organizers, the main goal of the event is to clean up the city's territories from garbage, contribute to landscaping, and most importantly, to instill in society the understanding that "a clean environment is the key to a bright future."

The cleanliness of the city is the shared responsibility of every citizen, not just municipal services. This Saturday was a clear proof of that. The activity of the participants demonstrated their love for their native city and a sense of responsibility.

During the weekend, work was carried out in several areas:

  • Cleaning of public areas. Streets, pedestrian paths, institutional areas, courtyards, and public spaces were cleaned of garbage.

  • Maintenance of green areas. Dead grass was cut, trees and bushes were trimmed. Lawns were maintained.

  • Cleaning of canals. The permeability of water canals and irrigation systems has been restored. This, in turn, has contributed to improving the sanitary situation.

  • Environmental awareness-raising activities. Participants and residents were explained the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the city and the need for everyone to contribute to the common good.

In total, several tons of garbage were removed and dozens of areas were cleaned up.

Employees of the Department of Corrections and Correctional Services took a special responsibility in the clean-up of the territories, setting an example. In addition, employees of correctional institutions also actively participated in this event.

Probation service representatives provided advice to citizens who were placed on probation on maintaining cleanliness in their homes and cultivating a culture of public order.

During such joint work, specialists from different fields joined forces towards a common goal and contributed to the common cause.

Cleanup Saturday is not just a local cleanup event. It is an event with great educational value. By cleaning up the city, residents set an example for their children and neighbors.

A culture of cleanliness is an indicator of a civilized society. If everyone got used to keeping their surroundings clean instead of throwing garbage on the ground, our city would be much more beautiful and comfortable.

This initiative of the Department of Civil Affairs is a concrete manifestation of the mobilization of citizens in this direction.

The main slogan raised during the campaign is this: People who live in a clean environment are healthier, respect nature, and care about their city.

Such measures, in addition to increasing environmental culture, strengthen the sense of responsibility in society. These initiatives are especially important for the younger generation. Children and young people, seeing such an example from adults, are brought up to treat nature with care.

Representatives of the Department of Civil Protection plan to hold such events regularly. The citywide Sabbaths will continue throughout the year, with the broad involvement of residents and various government organizations.

In addition, in the future, landscaping work will be intensified and tree planting campaigns will be organized. This is one of the concrete steps aimed at improving the environmental situation of Shymkent.

The Saturday parade, held on September 7 , 2025, was an important event that demonstrated the active civic stance of the city's residents.

The cleanup efforts organized by the Department of Corrections, correctional institution employees, and representatives of the Probation Service not only improved the beauty of Shymkent, but also gave impetus to the formation of an environmental culture in society.

City cleanliness is the shared responsibility of all of us.
If each of us looks at our hometown with compassion and contributes to keeping it clean, we will leave a bright, comfortable, and clean environment for future generations.
