On September 13, 2025, another cleanup day was held in the Tasken residential area of Shymkent's Karatau District. Residents of the district, active youth, volunteers, and utility workers participated in the environmental action.
During the clean-up day the following was carried out:
collection of household waste;
🔹 Removal of construction waste using specialized equipment;
🔹 mowing grass and removing weeds;
🔹 Street washing and improvement of public spaces.
It's important to note that similar events are held regularly in various parts of the city. Since August of this year, cleanup days have already taken place in the Nursat, Turan-1, Turan-2, Nurtas, and Tassay microdistricts. Each time, we've seen increasing citizen participation, and the results are visible: streets are cleaner, courtyards are more tidy, and public spaces are more pleasant to relax in.
The main goal of these campaigns is to create a comfortable and clean environment for city residents , as well as to foster environmental awareness and a responsible attitude towards the environment.
A cleanup day isn't just about picking up trash. It's a symbol of community unity, bringing people together around a common goal. By participating in such events, residents contribute to the improvement of their neighborhoods and set an example for children and young people.
Participation in environmental events plays an important educational role for the younger generation. It fosters a caring attitude toward nature and a sense of responsibility for shared spaces. It's especially helpful when parents bring their children to such events, as this instills environmental awareness from an early age.
This time, special attention was paid to the removal of construction waste and bulky debris. Trucks and other specialized equipment were deployed for this purpose. Accumulating such waste in vacant lots or near residential buildings not only spoils the appearance of the area but also negatively impacts sanitary conditions.
In addition, special vehicles washed the streets. This helps reduce dust levels and improve air quality, which is especially important for the health of city residents.
Local residents participated in the cleanup with great enthusiasm. Families with children, senior citizens, and students attended. Many emphasized that a clean courtyard or street creates a pleasant atmosphere and improves their quality of life.
Some residents took the initiative and began to improve their courtyards: planting flowers, whitewashing trees, and beautifying flowerbeds. These actions demonstrate that the cleanup day is gradually evolving from a one-time event into a genuine tradition of caring for their hometown.
The cleanup event was organized by the Karatau District Akimat and the Department for the Development of a Comfortable Urban Environment . Municipal services provided the necessary equipment and supplies, as well as specialized machinery. Volunteers assisted with resident coordination and outreach.
Akimat representatives noted that such events will be held regularly and will cover all districts of the city. Particular emphasis is placed on maintaining cleanliness not only during cleanup days but every day.
Environmental conservation is a crucial task for modern society. Urban growth, increasing vehicle traffic, and construction put pressure on the environment. In this context, cleanup efforts are especially important.
A city's cleanliness is directly linked to the health of its residents. Green spaces, well-maintained courtyards, and clean streets contribute to a better environment and create comfortable living conditions. That's why participating in cleanup days is an investment not only for today but also for future generations.
The slogan "A clean city is a comfortable city" should become a core principle for every resident. After all, municipal services alone cannot ensure order in every courtyard and on every street. Only through joint efforts can real results be achieved.
If everyone follows simple rules—throw away trash in designated areas, keep their neighborhoods clean, and preserve green spaces—our city will become truly comfortable and beautiful.
Furthermore, participating in cleanup days strengthens good-neighborly relations. People get to know each other better, unite around a common cause, and create a friendly atmosphere in neighborhoods.
City authorities have already announced that they plan to hold more cleanup days in other neighborhoods and residential areas in the coming months. Youth organizations and volunteer groups will be more actively involved in these events.
Schools and universities are also planning to hold special environmental lessons and lectures to instill in the younger generation the habit of caring for cleanliness and nature.
The cleanup day held in Tusken on September 13th was another step toward creating a clean, comfortable, and beautiful city. It demonstrated that significant results can be achieved through joint efforts.
