The Head of State expressed his readiness to play a leading role in attracting American business investment to Central Asia and expanding their business scope, as Kazakhstan, as the most powerful economy in the region.
Continued cooperation in the C5+ and B5+ formats can give new impetus to efforts in this direction.
The President informed the roundtable participants about the economic and political reforms being implemented in the country.
– Kazakhstan aims to create an economy based on knowledge and innovation. At the same time, special attention is paid to digital transformation. The country's economy plays a key role in the prosperity of the region. American business has made a significant contribution to Kazakhstan's achievement of such heights. According to the results of the first eight months of this year, the country's economic growth amounted to 6.5 percent. We intend to carry out large-scale political and economic reforms, while maintaining high rates of development, - said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The Head of State noted that all the work being carried out is aimed at increasing Kazakhstan's attractiveness for foreign direct investment. He also touched upon the main areas of economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev named the energy sector, which has long been the basis of bilateral cooperation, as the first priority.
– We recognize and highly appreciate the significant and successful investments made by Chevron and ExxonMobil in our country over the past 30 years. Despite the geopolitical turmoil in the region, there has never been any doubt about their activities in our country. Your activities in Kazakhstan have had a positive impact on the modernization of our country's economy, the introduction of advanced technologies, and the sustainability and strength of our economic potential. We will continue to constructively cooperate with our American partners in the Tengiz, Kashagan, and Karachaganak oil fields. We hope that our mutual partnership will continue to bring fair and mutually beneficial results in the future. Kazakhstan intends to diversify the export routes of its energy resources, - said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
