Measures to increase budget revenues were discussed in Shymkent.

In accordance with the Head of State's directive to increase regional revenues, a special meeting was held today at the city's Department of State Revenue, attended by Mayor Gabit Syzdykbekov and representatives of relevant authorities. The discussion focused on increasing the city's budget revenues.
The city's mayor noted that developing a sustainable revenue base is of strategic importance, as it enables the implementation of priority projects and the resolution of pressing city development challenges. Significant progress has been made in this area over the past two years.
Specifically, the city budget increased by 239 billion tenge to 895 billion tenge, of which 496 billion came from its own revenues. Budget autonomy increased from 46% to 56%, indicating a reduced dependence on transfers from the republican budget.
The meeting participants also reviewed a comprehensive action plan for 2026–2027, which includes ensuring planned revenues and identifying additional sources of income.
Following the meeting, the city mayor instructed responsible officials to strengthen revenue collection efforts and conduct outreach to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) regarding taxpayer re-registration in Shymkent at their place of business.
