Almaty hosted a regular meeting of the management of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market and the National Bank with chiefs of the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan and second-tier banks.

Participants of the meeting discussed current issues of financial sector development, including offers of market participants for a draft of the new Banks and Banking Activities Law.

Moreover, the pace of consumer lending, measures to prevent debt burdens, and stimulate lending to the economy were discussed.

The parties highlighted importance of introducing the digital financial assets and elaborated on the mechanisms of use of the digital tenge.

Representatives of the financial sector also studied measures taken to prevent fraud in the financial market and grounds for extrajudicial and judicial write-offs of fraudulent loans.
