The Department of State Revenue for the Mangystau region informs that the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan has developed a draft order "On approval of the Rules for determining objects of taxation and (or) objects related to taxation by the indirect method." The document was prepared in order to implement the provisions of the new Tax Code (paragraph 5 of Article 173) and is aimed at increasing the transparency and fairness of the tax system.
The draft provides for a mechanism for applying the so-called indirect method of determining taxable objects. It will be used by the state revenue authorities in cases where a taxpayer violates the accounting procedure, as well as in case of loss or destruction of accounting documents. In addition, this method will make it possible to more objectively determine the income of individuals.
The essence of the indirect method is that if the primary documents are missing or distorted, the tax authorities will use alternative sources of information. Data on assets and property, liabilities, turnover, income, expenses and expenses of the taxpayer can be used to calculate the tax base. This approach allows you to identify inconsistencies and get a more reliable picture of the real financial situation of the entity.
The use of the indirect method solves several tasks at once:
- increases the efficiency of tax administration;
- ensures the completeness and reliability of the information in the declarations;
- allows remote monitoring of tax risks;
- helps to prevent tax evasion;
- strengthens the principle of fair taxation.
Ultimately, this will lead to a reduction in the volume of the shadow economy and the formation of more honest business conditions.
